Design an event & marketing strategy to launch the £900 million town centre regeneration plan

In the case of Basildon, we were required to design an event and marketing strategy to launch the £900 million town centre regeneration plan, heightening awareness of the project and inciting interest from property development and investors, with the ultimate objective of converting these into long-term strategic development partners.

 

Having examined the brief, we developed a full communication campaign that effectively positioned the event, conveyed powerfully the bold initiatives that are in process, and delivered a contemporary, professional event that was attended by an accurately-profiled audience.  Ultimately provoking a response from prospective investors that exceeded expectations.

 

The Results

Within 48 hours of the event 10 prospective development partners have made serious approaches to Basildon Council.  To date, an additional 11 potential partners have entered discussions with the Council.  A further 20 potential investors and developers, both national and multi-national companies, have requested and been given tours of the area.  

 

Editorial coverage of the event was achieved in key industry journals such as Property Week, Estates Gazette, Contract Journal, with extensive articles in local newspapers such as The Basildon Evening Echo and The Yellow Advertiser.

 

Finally, Basildon Renaissance Partnership were so enamoured with the branding of the campaign and event, that ‘Alive!  The Opportunity is Basildon’ has been carried through to the Basildon Renaissance website, and also to their quarterly regeneration magazine that has just been launched.
